What is Ishi?

He...or it is a devul. A species that look pretty close to demons, and rhyme with a biblical meanie. They usually have dark hair (with the occasional albino. But they're part of a rare and Imperial family), bat wings, tails that decrease in circumference towards the tip, and become rather stringy, similar to mice, only covered in fur that is the color of the rest of their hair, and ears that can either point up, out or down -all depending on genetics- which are made of thick cartilage and also covered in fur. This is a shapeshifing species, but they cannot just shapeshift into anything they want. And the ability and range of creatures increases with age. And as far as age goes, they generally live much longer than humans, but not forever. He's still fairly young, and I'm not going to put it in numbers. He can only turn into 2 creatures at this point. A rabbit-sized mouse-like critter which he has control over, and a large uncontrollable ravaging beast- He's coming right up to devul puberty which is a time in their life when they begin to choose their genders. They are previously gender-less, but when this time comes and only in this time, they are able to switch between female, male, and genderless.

Why is Ishi here?

Ishalee belonged to a pretty damn high-status family back in his alternate-world. In that kind of society the richer parents usually have the money to hire caretakers/trainers to bring their children up into the world, ready to come into the family's business or whatever it may be. (basically raise them for them to be high-class individuals. lazy rich people) Ishalee's caretaker Enthmos- an adult male devul- was all pissed because he took into realization that he was training some little kid to be a rich and high-class devul, and yet he didn't have any sort of title like that of his own- he had just studied it. And so- he kidnaps Ishi and flees to a place where he has written a spell on the ground that will send Ishi across to the world above. Or rather it's a world below them. If two people were to stand in the same spot in each world, they'd be touching feet....though not physically. Anyways, Ishi ends up on the surface world and he's like wut. He's just a small child at this point. He's easily impressionable. So he ends up getting into this kind of life in this kind of world, without learning much about how he as a devul should be growing up. He doesn't know exactly why he can shapeshift, why he has wings and a tail, or why the ability to change "his" gender is happening suddenly nor that he has a limited amount of time to choose it- and doesn't remember much about the whole ordeal back at home either. Due to not growing up with his own kind, his shape-shifting range and powers are very limited compared to those of one his same age who did grow up there. The creatures that come out of them are derived from their feelings, and inner-most needs for the moment that they turn into them. A super emotional angry Ishi would be....Yeah like hulk smash.
